Why lash extensions?

Lash extensions have become a way of life for many, similar to getting your nails done. Just one service every 2-3 weeks, allows you to streamline your morning makeup application and your evening makeup removal routines. Some may think of eyelash extensions as a service for the high-maintenance or super glam , rather, we find it is often a service utilized by busy Moms and professionals who want to look put together without lots of effort throughout the week. We often hear, “when I have lashes, I can just wash my face and go in the morning.” They really do make a world of difference. And of course, if you don’t want to make lashes a routine, they are always great just for special occasions and the big events in your life.

How are lash extensions applied?

Lash extensions are applied to a single natural lash. This can be a fan or a single classic lash, but either way it is applied to one single isolated natural lash at a time. As the natural lash grows and eventually sheds, the lash extension goes with it. When applied properly, lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes.

Why do I need a refill, and when?

Eyelashes, similar to hair on the head, go through a growth cycle. New lashes are always sprouting up, and old ones are shedding off. The average human sheds 3-5 natural lashes per day. Since your lash extension is attached to your natural lash, it sheds with it. After 2-3 weeks, you will want to get them filled back in. We like to compare regular lash fills to manicures. After 2-3 weeks, the polish is still on your nails, but it is grown out and doesn’t look like as fresh as it did, so you schedule a manicure. It’s like that.

How do I take care of my lashes at home…and is there anything I shouldn’t do?

Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours after your service. After the first 24 hours, wash your lashes daily with a lash cleanser. We have cleanser available to purchase. Avoid high heat, flame, and all oils on or near the lash line. If you can, avoid sleeping face down. Keep your hands off your lashes. Do not pick or pull at them or overly brush them. Your fingers have oil in them which can break down the lash adhesive and over-manipulation will also weaken the bond. Do not apply mascara to or use an eyelash curler on your lash extensions.

Will it hurt?

No. You may actually get a nap in. If you do feel any discomfort, it is typically because fumes from the adhesive are getting in your eye or the eye pads have moved up and are causing irritation. Both are easy fixes, just let us know.
